Phew… For the first time since around my birthday, i.e. three months, I have no work lined up in my other job. Unless something lands tomorrow, I will have a weekend off! 🙂 Ironing, doing my accounts, emailing, vacuuming etc. etc. 🙁
Still, it does give me time for a post, so I thought I’d mention a couple of things about the way I work and making a booking to see me.
Blocked phone numbers: I am seriously considering no longer answering calls from unknown numbers. I appreciate that occasionally someone may call from a work phone, but honestly, I’m struggling to think of when a call from an unknown number led to a booking. If it’s ever happened it’s certainly only been once or twice. If you need to make an initial call without your number showing, I suggest you’re forthcoming with why early in the conversation, and I’ll remind everyone that I never confirm a booking without knowing your number. I have no nefarious motives, but I need to be able to get in touch with you in case anything goes awry.
Late evening bookings: I’m happy to work until 10.30pm, or 11pm Thursdays to Saturdays. If I don’t have anything arranged, however, I tend to switch off, unwind and eat around 9pm. If I know I have a booking, I can organise my evening around it, but honestly, the chances of a last-minute booking after 8-8.30pm are slim, and after 10pm nigh on non-existent. So if you fancy some late-time nookie, try and think a little bit ahead!
Morning: Conversely, I don’t do mornings… I’m a night owl, and rarely in bed before 3am, which means I’m not usually up before 10.30am, and my phone often isn’t switched on before 11am. It then takes me a while to get going, have my breakfast, and do anything I need to do in my other job. Hence, I rarely start bookings before 2pm. I have no problem doing a booking from 10.30am onwards, but they do need to be arranged the day before.
Last but not least, I am never available ‘now’ – I always need at least 45 minutes’ notice, and more than an hour is much better!
Anyway, now the temperature is dropping I hope I’ll see some of you for some warming exercise, or just a good old cuddle, soon.
