Who’s calling?
It’s understandable that men who use escorts, or who are looking to, might be cautious about their security – though I always remind the more paranoid ones that discretion works both ways. For this reason, unlike some ladies, I do answer calls from unknown/blocked phone numbers. Sometimes there is a genuine explanation, such as someone calling from an office network phone, but even if they have blocked their number themselves I will have a brief conversation to answer any initial queries they might have.
Should they wish to make a booking, however, I explain that they need to call me back with their number showing. There are three main reasons for this:
Practical: if some sort of calamity should befall me inbetween the confirmation and the actual booking time, I need to be able to get hold of the client to either cancel or ask for a few minutes’ delay.
Security: should the client turn out to be violent or a wannabe thief etc., at least I have a phone number. It might not be much use if it’s a throwaway phone, but it’s something.
Health: if, goddess forbid, I caught something, I would need to contact all the clients seen since my last STI screen. For this reason, besides the numbers of regulars, I keep a client’s number in my phone for 3-4 months regardless of whether I see them again, until I get the all-clear from my next check-up. After that, I delete their number.
No one else has access to my phone, and no client would be identifiable just from browsing my address book. So please, don’t worry – I have no nefarious motives for asking for your number!
