I’ve just received the all-clear from my latest STI screen. Thought it might be worth reassuring existing and potential clients that I go routinely every three months, and would always make an additional visit if there was any sort of condom accident or I was concerned that I might have some symptoms.

Moreover, I go to the special sex workers’ clinic at St Mary’s in Paddington. So I have a blood test and both oral and vaginal swabs. They check for:

• Bacterial vaginosis
• Chlamydia
• Gonorrhoea
• Hepatitis A, B and C
• HIV
• Syphilis
• Thrush
• Trichomoniasis

I don’t only take my own health very seriously, but yours as well, and that of any partner(s) you may have too. That’s why you shouldn’t be offended if I refuse to perform OWO (which is going to be the subject of a FAQ blog post soon…), or roll your eyes if you think I’m being fussy about the condom fitting properly, going on smoothly, and coming off safely. I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s better to be safe than sorry?
