Autumn colours
When I have to choose a colour for my hair for e.g. a web directory, I correctly go for brown. But there’s brown, and there’s brown, isn’t there…? I actually would say mine is chestnut. I have some Celtic and probably Viking heritage, and most of my female relatives have had blonde or red hair. My grandmother’s was the most beautiful auburn (dark red). Some people call mine red, but I disagree – I was actually golden blonde until puberty, and then it started to darken over my teens to the shade it is today.
Quite a few of my hairs are still very fine and fair, but nowadays I do a double-take in the mirror if I notice one glinting, in case it’s grey! Thankfully, I think I’m going to be one of those people that will take a while to go fully grey, and it doesn’t really bother me, either.
My eyes are the same – this is the only photo I have that comes near a true representation. I have to say green, but they’re not the bright green you see in some redheads: they’re more khaki/olive, with a charcoal rim. Try clicking on the pic to see a larger version.
So, all in all, I’m quite an autumnal person colouring wise – though my ruddy cheeks are made for winter!
